I have had Rota Virus before..and let me tell you it is no fun.. Rota virus is a virus that you can catch from a restaurant that you have ate at and is not sanitary..(usually in Chinese resturants, that's where I got my disease)..Or a hospital, doctors office. Rota virus usually has the symptoms of diahrea and vometing and maybe more. When I had rota virus I had it for 17 days. If you do have the symptoms of rota virus DO NOT TAKE ANY MEDICATIONS FROM STORES IT JUST MAKES IT WORSE. I learned that myself.. I had taken so many medications..just to where my diahrea was pure black. It had a foul smell as well. I recomend contacting a doctor and if they tell you to give it a day do that but after that and they tell you to give it another day DO NOT! From all the medications i took i took one that was a liquid and made me vomet...not because of the virus mostly because of the taste of the medicine...Even after every sip of water I took i had to go...attention* DRINK PLENTY OF WATER OR YOU WILL DEHYDRATE * I got put in the hospital and had to spend 2 nights..they put me on IV's and I was all better....you will lose your appetite for sure...I went 3 days without eating a thing BUT i drank ALOT OF WATER and ONLY WATER!!!!!!!!!!!! goodluck!

Theoretically the answer is yes. Rota virus infection is most common cause of diarrhea in developed countries where sanitation is good. Your child had a diarrhea twice in two weeks and it is just possible to have same. There mare so many other viruses, which can cause diarrhea in children. In this case it may be other virus but treatment remains same.
