Suggest why bacteria are chosen to make human insulin?

The insulin gene will be extracted from cells from an animal such as a pig, and placed into the loop of DNA in a microorganism. When the microorganism reproduces, the DNA gene will reproduce with it, and this is repeated again and again and the micro-organsms will produce insulin. Whe a sufficient amount of microorganisms have been grown, the insulin will be extracted and used in medicine

If a eukaryotic gene is inserted in prokaryotic cellwould gene expressed its characters?

It is unlikely that a eukaryotic gene would be expressed in a prokaryotic cell. Eukaryotic genes are typically regulated by different mechanisms and contain introns that prokaryotic cells cannot process. As a result, the prokaryotic cell is unlikely to be able to express the eukaryotic gene.

What are 4 ways micro organisms are helpful?

Microorganisms are helpful in the environment by decomposing organic matter, aiding in nutrient recycling, and contributing to soil fertility. They are also used in the production of food and beverages through processes like fermentation. Additionally, some microorganisms are used in biotechnological applications, such as producing enzymes and antibiotics.

Why is insulin a over the counter drug?

I am from The United States other country's may have different laws. Insulin is sold over the counter due to the fact that people with Diabetes don't always have a prescription for the medicine yet they still need to take it to live. In my area these insulin's range in price from $40-$60 There is a list of insulin sold over the counter such as Novolin N, Novolin R, Novolin 70/30, Humulin N, Humulin R, Humulin 70/30, Humulin 50/50and so on. There is a list of insulin NOT SOLD OVER THE COUNTER. Apidra, lantus, Novolog, Humalog ect. So in fact it would be murder if you could not purchase insulin over the counter. Although if you have no money and you need insulin it would seem that you might be out of luck or life.
