The cell membrane is a phospholipid bilayer with embedded proteins. It gives cells their structure and acts as a barrier that regulates the passage of molecules in and out of the cell. The membrane is selectively permeable, allowing only certain substances to pass through.

Is there a cell membrane in both plants and animals?

yes, but it may not look like it. The plant cell has a cell wall, and under it is the cell membrane, then the cell. you can see the cell membrane easier on an animal cell though because it does not have a cell wall.

Is a cell membrane a plant or animal cell or both plus?

A plant has a cell membrane and so does an animal, but they're not just one. An animal has a cell membrane just like a plant but they look different and have different functions.

Where is a cell membrane of a plant cell?

The cell membrane (plasma membrane) is inside the cell wall. You can sometimes see the cell membrane if you look carefully but its right under the cell wall

Cell membrane analogy?

The cell membrane can be compared to a fence around a house. Just as a fence regulates what enters and exits the property, the cell membrane controls what substances come in and out of the cell. Additionally, like a fence, the cell membrane provides protection and support for the cell.
