I m doing the same project.....i would use a tennis ball or something like that..in my case im baking a cake so i need to find a snack like a kinder surprise :S

Golf ball. white, green, or pink doesn't matter! the dimples of the golf ball represent the nuclear pores

It depends on if the model is going to be flat or 3-dimensional. Candy is always a popular choice. Old junk jewelry is another option. Buttons and pipe cleansers make a good combination. Seeds and other plant parts are also suitable. Most teachers like their students to use their imagination and originality. Look around and see what you can find!

You could use a small bead or a wooden ball to represent the nucleus in a plant cell model. Alternatively, a button or a bead painted a different color from the rest of the model could also work.
