Moths are attracted to light. That's why moths fly around lamp posts at night. Moths also eat cloth. So if you find holes in a sweater it could of been caused by a moth. I hope this helps.

Moths are attracted to light sources, particularly artificial lights at night, which can disrupt their navigation mechanisms. They are also drawn to the scent of flowers and certain pheromones released by other moths for mating purposes.

Moths are attracted to light or heat more?

Moths are generally more attracted to light than to heat. They use light from the moon and stars to navigate, which can sometimes lead them to be attracted to artificial light sources at night.
