Blood goes to the liver via hepatic artery (comes from your heart) and the portal vein (from your digestive system). Inside the liver, there are billions of cells called hepatic cells. Once the blood flows inside the liver, hepatic cells simply change those bad products in the blood and turn them into a much safer ones. After it is change, these by-products will then be secreted out of your body through your urine.
