In theory. They 'inhale' Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and 'exhale' Oxygen (O2). To improve the above statement... since plants "inhale" Carbon Dioxide which is made up of one molecule of Carbon and 2 of Oxygen, plants can not live without oxygen because without oxygen there would be no carbon dioxide in the first place. So my final answer is NO! Plants can not live without oxygen! ***WORLD PEACE*** :) smoking kills...

The answer is that all plant cells need oxygen to live, because without oxygen they can't perform aerobic respiration (respiration is the process of breaking down food to get energy).

There are different stages of life cycle in the plants. For example seeds having living embryo can survive with out oxygen for very long time under low temperature and humidity. Likewise spores of some lower plants can also survive to grow in next rainy season.

No, one of the qualities of living things is that they need oxygen to live. Yes, there are bacteria and other living organisms that survive without oxygen, living in a methane or other non-oxygenated atmosphere. Bacteria that need oxygen to survive are aerobic. Anaerobic bacteria do not live in an oxygenated atmosphere. In some areas of the deep ocean where there is no oxygen or light there are bacteria that live without oxygen that get all their energy from the reduction of sulphur compounds and heat emitted by volcanic vents (Black Smokers)

A plant will make its own oxygen if it has chlorophyll and access to water and carbon dioxide. The plant cells do need oxygen to survive; I'm assuming that you are not cutting off its access to the oxygen.

Do the roots absord oxygen from the soil?

Yes. Most plants will die if there is no oxygen available to its roots, after a few days. Some wetland plants have developed ways to survive without the need for absorbing oxygen through roots.

How long can a person live with his bone marrow not functioning?

Without functioning bone marrow, a person may survive for only a few days to a couple of weeks. This is because bone marrow is essential for producing blood cells, which are necessary for oxygen transport and immune function. Without these cells, the body cannot survive for long.

What important material does a living things need?

Living things need a variety of important materials to survive, including water, oxygen, nutrients, and sunlight. Water is essential for cellular functions and maintaining hydration. Oxygen is necessary for cellular respiration to generate energy. Nutrients, such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, provide building blocks for growth and repair. Sunlight is crucial for photosynthesis in plants to produce food.

Human Life expectancy without food and water?

Without food, the human body can survive for about 1-2 months, depending on individual health and circumstances. Without water, however, the body can only survive for about 3-7 days before severe dehydration sets in and leads to organ failure and death.

Which of the connective tissues allows humans to survive several days without eating?

Adipose tissue, also known as body fat, allows humans to survive several days without eating. It stores energy in the form of fat and can be broken down to provide the body with a source of fuel when food intake is limited.

Why can't people survive food and water more than a few minutes without oxygen?

People can survive without food for several days (even weeks depending on body fat), without water for less (depending on heat and sweating due to exertion), but without oxygen for a few minutes only. (Try holding your breath and timing when you must take another breath, and you will realise how important oxygen is!).
