Yes. I just found sime vaseline applied to the trunks of 4 trees I was takig care of, to prevent ants to climb them, actually made impossible for the trees to get rid of their own dead cells. Fungus appeared. Now that I took away the vaseline with a knife, the trees are in very delicate health.

Vaseline can block the pores of plants, preventing them from breathing or getting the sunlight they need to photosynthesize. This can ultimately lead to the death of the plant if not removed promptly.

What would happen to a leaf if vaseline was applied to the lower surface for 1 day?

If vaseline is applied to the lower surface of a leaf for 1 day, it would likely block the stomata, the tiny openings through which plants exchange gases. This could hinder the leaf's ability to photosynthesize and transpire, potentially causing wilting or damage to the leaf.

Do eucalyptus leaves kill other plants?
