Quite the opposite! A good probiotic supplement should actually help with candida (yeast overgrowth). There are a few things to look out for when picking out a probiotic supplement.

1. Make sure it's potent, 1 million active bacteria is not enough. Look for 20 billion and up.

2. Make sure it doesn't contain FOS or prebiotics. Prebiotics feed all bacteria, good and bad. It can cause bloating and other digestive issues.

3. Make sure it's a strain with human origins, not soil! Strains from soil can have dangerous heavy metals.

While probiotics are commonly used to help prevent yeast infections by promoting healthy bacteria in the gut and vagina, they can sometimes cause yeast infections in individuals with compromised immune systems or those taking antibiotics. It is always best to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement to ensure it is safe for you.

I found that my body is telling me I'm overdosing on probiotics by creating anal itching. I suppose vaginal itching could be caused as well. You should lower or cease temporarily your probiotics to determine if that is the cause.

No, a man drinking beer cannot directly cause a woman to have a yeast infection. Yeast infections are typically caused by an overgrowth of the fungus Candida albicans in the vagina, often due to factors like a weakened immune system, hormonal changes, or antibiotic use. Alcohol consumption by one partner does not directly lead to yeast infections in the other partner.
