That sort of thing happens if you weren't pierced at an ideal angle (i.e. in this case, probably too much of an angle; piercings work best when they enter and come out perpendicular to the skin). If they come out at too much of angle relative to the surface of the skin, then the skin may try to grow over. It also is possible that your piercer did a perfectly good job, but that's just what your particular body does in reaction to a belly button piercing.

Or, wait a minute... Since you say it's growing over the BALL, and not the other part of jewelry (I was picturing a ring; I forgot for a minute that most women don't wear rings in their belly button piercing), it sounds like the only way that that could possibly happen is if your jewerly is way too small/tight! Get yourself some jewelry of the proper size and that won't happen! If you got it done recently, it might be the case that the jewelry you have is the proper size for later but not big enough to accommodate current swelling.

Probably just a blemish on that ball. Balls like that are usually used with special CBR's that screw on one side and are indented on the other side to meet the flat end of the ring. Not a big deal!

This is a case of misuse of aftercare products or poor aftercare, you need to take your piercing related issue to your body piercer and ask them what is going on. It sounds like a hypertrophic reaction where the tissue is forming a bubble over the piercing. This is caused by the aftercare product being used so much that the body is reacting to it and forming this "hypertrophic reaction", some will stupidly call it a "keloid", which it isn't.

But none the less it's your piercing and your piercer needs to learn how to fix these issues, so go back and see them and see what they say. If you are told to keep using your aftercare product more than you are or you are told to put aspirin or any other junk on the piercing contact me directly by way of the on line message system here at Wikianswers.

Does a belly button piercing hurt more then a lip piercing?

I have both my lip and belly button pierced. I had my belly button pierced with a hoop and my lip pierced with a bar/stud. The belly button was more irritating then the lip because a hoop piercing requires the piercer to clamp it shut and fiddle around with a new pierced part instead of just screwing a ball on. I recommend any new piercings to be with a bar/stud as it is quicker and less irritating. Put it this way, I'm going for a 2nd lip piercing and not another belly button piercing ;)

Can the ball go backwards into the belly button piercing?

yes! if it does you need to go to a doctor and have it looked at because that happened to mine and it turns out it was severely infected and i had to take it out.

What do you put on a belly button piercing?

You are supposed to put salt water on it. Either put it on a cotton ball then on your belly piercing for 8 minutes or you can put the salt water in a shot glass and put it on it for 8 minutes. Also remember to make sure it is warm salt water and to rinse your belly ring after. This should be done twice a day (Once in morning and once at night)

How do you get a antitragus piercing bar out?

it's just like a belly bar. you unscrew the top ball, and then pull it from the bottom :)

How do you put a new belly bar in?

Answer 1: I hope you mean a barbell, as it would NOT be smart to put a bar (straight piece of jewelry) into your belly button piercing. And you do mean a belly button piercing, right? Not a surface piercing on your abdomen? Assuming you're dealing with a belly button piercing and a piece of jewelry with screw-on balls, just unscrew one of the balls of the jewelry that's already in there (after cleaning the jewelry carefully all over, and cleaning your skin, and with clean hands) and remove it. Then, unscrew one of the balls of the new jewelry, slide it in, and screw the ball on. I'm not sure what part you're confused about or if you're using some other type of jewelry maybe, but I hope that helps! PS: Also, don't change it earlier than your piercer said you could! That's just asking for an infection; also, you might have trouble getting it in and if you can't get it in in time, it'll close up.

You found a little ball on the side of your belly button what can it be?

Is it normal to get a ball in the belly button piercing area?

Do you mean a little bump? About the size of a typical stud? Flesh-coloured and soft? Not painful? If so, then yes! It'll go away on it's own, I got one when I had my nose pierced. If youre worried about it just go back and have your piercer check it out!

How do you permanently remove a belly button ring?

The ball is held in by pressure from the ring, it has two little divits in it. To get the ball out try to put pressure on one side of it and it may pop out, if not go to a shop they have specific tool made to take the ball out. Some people use tools around the house but this is a good way to ruin your jewelry and maybe infect the piercing if the tool isn't clean.

Why is the top of a new belly button piercing - done with a barbell - sinking into the piercing?

It sounds like the barbell is too short. Go see your piercer asap as they may need to lengthen the barbell to allow for more swelling. When i had mine done, the same happened. This was because the top ball made an indent into the skin, just as though you sat on a beanbag it sinks to your shape. If it isn't painful then this is the problem. i hoped i helped =] X

How do you take out belly button piercing?

Just unscrew one of the balls and slide it out. If youre replacing it with a different bar, follow through with the new bar for a smooth transition. If the ball is on there really tight, try wearing gloves. If that still doesn't work, either ask someone to help you or just go ask your piercer.

How do you stop your belly button ring from unscrewing and falling off while surfing?

Thw best thing to do is to tighten the ball on the barbell with a pair of pliers, the ball won't unscrew unless you loosen the ball again using pliers.
