To make it shiny. The vinegar strips away excess shampoo residue and oils.

I love apple cider vinegar, I have been using it about 2-3 times a week as a hair rinse. My hair is fine so I am even able to get away with the vinegar rinse as my conditioner too! My hair is very shiny and I have noticed that I can wait almost a day longer than normal, no oily roots!

I will use for life!

When you wash your hair with lemon juice do you use conditioner and shampoo too?

You should wash you hair with shampoo (as normal), rinse it and then rinse it again with water to which a little vinegar or lemon juice has been added. It will make it shiny. When you do this you should not also use a conditioner.

Tonight I'm bleaching my hair but I want to go swimming Even if I rinse out the chlorine before I bleach it will it turn my hair green?

Chlorine does not turn hair green. Copper in the pool water is the culprit. If you wash your hair before you bleach it, it should not turn green from an earlier swim. If you are concerned about copper in your hair, rinse your hair with white vinegar. That will break down the copper and remove it.

Why do people put vinegar in their hair before dying it?

because theyre weird vinegar makes it smell bad and overdryes it ^^^^ this is a horrible answer. vinegar, firstly, is a very old beauty secret for hair. 1. it's usually a vinegar solution not straight vinegar. ie 1/2 white vinegar or apple cider vinegar to two cups of water. you can pour this solution over your hair in the shower after shampooing and conditioning let it sit five minutes and rinse, follow with more conditioner if you want. 2. it doesnt smell bad because of the water content and it dissipates as its drying. i use vinegar on my hair once a week and have had people smell my hair to make sure. 3. it only over dries your hair if you use too much or use it too often. its known that over time the hair follicles can open up very large and create a strand to look like it has "awnings" all the way down the shaft (you have seen this on shampoo commercials) after dying and bleaching and aging it becomes more and more porous (holes where hair dye molecules are supposed to fit, get bigger making it easier for it to get in but just as easy to rinse out) and this can mean that its frizzy and less shiny. the vinegar helps to put these "awnings" back down flat and leave you with shinier and softer tresses. 4. you do it before of after a dye job so that the hair is less porous (if your hair has trouble holding onto dye then this is for you, especially red colors) when the vinegar hits it puts those "awnings" down making it harder for the color to rinse out after you dye it or shutting it in if you to the vinegar after you rinse. sourcce: I'm a hair dresser

Will using vinegar to rinse your hair strip away relaxer or color?

yes using vinegar can strip the relaxer out of the hair..it is a process that take a day or so...u have to keep applying it in order for it to work. and yes the hair will go back to its curly and natural state. so if someone tells u, u have to cut it out u will have two options...to use vinegar..or cut off all ur hair...its your choice!!!

How do you remove hairspray from your hair?

You can remove hairspray from your hair by washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo or mixing equal parts of vinegar and water and using it as a rinse on your hair. You can also use a mixture of baking soda and water to create a paste and massage it into your hair before rinsing it out.
