Heya, I got my tongue pierced about two months ago and honestly I stopped using mouthwash everyday around the third week, almost every second day I'd rinse but that's about it.

∙ 15y agoYou will actually never stop cleaning your new piercing if you are using good personalhygiene however the amount of attention you will be paying to your piercing will ease off as the piercing heals and the discharge and matter ease off. 6 to 8 weeks for a very basic heal, however the longer you just rinse the piercing during showers ans baths the quicker the healing will occur.

∙ 14y agoIf you have piercings, they should be cleaned daily when you are in the shower regardless of how old they are. The body will still discharge lymphatic matter this is skin oils and other materials that when left to build up will start to generate a foul odour. This matter needs to be cleaned daily to avoid reactions and infections from setting into the piercings.

Well that would be a hypertrophic reaction, this is a reaction to the so called "cleaning product" you are using. Stop using it and wash the piercing with lathered and diluted antibacterial liquid soap and plenty of water once a day, ensure you flash the piercing with lots of warm water after cleaning with the soap. Use nothing else on the piercing, the bumps will ease off in a few days and the piercing should return to an almost normal state. Throw the "cleaning product" in the garbage.
