What is significant about the area of the face referred to as the 't zone'?
The area of the face which is referred to as the t-zone consists
of the forehead, nose and chin. It is a reference to drawing a
capital "T" on someone's face. Skin care professionals refer to it
because the t-zone is usually an area with much oily skin. This
term also comes in handy when speaking of make up, for the same
reasons. In the military one also refers to the t-zone, as it is
the best shot placement for a sniper. Although in the military, the
t-zone also includes what is below the chin, namely the neck.
