Most Caucasians have hair that grows downward and is often straight; most blacks have hair that grows upwards and out, and is often more tightly curled.

On the average there are over one hundred thousand strands of hair on a young adult. Blondes average about 140,000 strands, brunettes average 108,000 and redheads average 90,000. Hair grows at a rate of about 150mm a year and each individual hair lasts for two to six years before it falls out, the follicle has a rest for a while, while another takes its place. Hair grows quickest in young adult women aged between sixteen and twenty-four (who are often then at the height of their possible reproductive capacity)

It all depends. The amount varies. If you brush your hair and wash you hair in a day then that looses more strands then if you dont. Also running your hands through your hair can loose strands and having knots in your hair and brushing them also looses hair. Hair is a thin, thread-like strand that grows from follicles in the skin of mammals, while fur is a dense coat of fine, soft hairs covering the skin of animals. Under high-power magnification, hair would show individual strands, while fur would show many hair strands closely packed together.
