It could be the way that you are shaving. Depending on the area, you want to shave with the grain versus shaving against the grain. You may not get the closest shave, but this should help relieve some irritation. Also make sure to exfoliate the area before to help lift the hairs. The hair that gets shave is left with a blunt cut, making it easier for it to grow back into the skin. Try these options and see if they work for you. Good luck!

After shaving, raxor bumps can be cause by some hairs that were either not shaved dwn all the way, got irritated with the skin, or became tucked in / ingrown. They can also be cause if the razor nicks the skin, creating small red scabs.

Why do you get painful red bumps from shaving your buttocks?

I assume the PRBs are on your buttocks and not some other part of your body, which would be a curious reaction. The bumps can be a form of folliculitis, an acne-like condition caused by irritation and inflammation of the hair follicles. Shaving with a dull razor can pull many hairs out instead of cutting them, which can cause the condition. In some cases, the bumps might be ingrown hairs, but that's unlikely, especially if your PRBs occur soon after shaving. When shaving your hairy butt, lubricate your cheeks well and use a new razor.
