ginger at first is a horse who is very upset about his shed taken to give black beauty a place to live. he is very short tempered but when he became friends with black beauty then he started taking control of his behaviour. when he was small he was not treated with care and affection and so he became short tempered. moreover he was taken away from her mother as soon as he started eating grass which made him go through difficult situations in life. his master would not ill treat him but giving him grass to eat and a shelter in winter was all he would do for him.
