Generally it is always best to shower before you tan. First of all this increases oxygenation of the skin and it takes UVA + UVB + oxygen to tan. Second, lotion absorbs better just after you shower. Finally, if you are using a product with DHA bronzers in it then it is important that you wait between 2 to 4 hours after tanning before you shower or else you lose some of the color you were headed for. Hope that helps.
20-30 minutes. Depending on if you used lotion with tingler or bronzer.
If you put accelerator on, you should wait about a few hours. When I go tanning, I take a shower that morning, go tan sometime during the day, and wait to shower the next morning.
Before, definitely!
yes , its advisable to unplug a tanning bed when not in use.
You should never use a tanning bed. You'll get skin cancer.
No--tanning in a stand up bed is actually less harmful to a baby when you compare it to tanning in a lay down bed. Make sure to get a doctors consent before tanning in a bed while pregnant though.
You should wear tanning lotion when on a tanning bed because these lotions that you buy at the salon help you absorb the tan better.

This is just my personal opinion. I usually tan after I take a shower because I feel like when I shave my legs after tanning that I'm shaving the tan off. I use a lotion that smells good after tanning and the salon I go to has deodorant in the rooms that I use when I get out. I also feel like a get a better tan because the shower opens my pores.
Be sure to moisturize before and after tanning, whether in a tanning bed, or outside. also try to regulate the amount of time you spend soaking in the rays, if using a bed try to go every other day (ask the people at the salon which level bed you should start at with your skin type). Also, do not shower for 2-3 hours after tanning, your skin is still adjusting. Try avoiding exfoliates, makeup remover, or some acne washes that strip your skin.
Tanning oil should not be used when using a tanning bed. Aside from the damage you may do to the equipment, the oil will increase the damage done to your skin and doesn't provide SPF protection.
Tanning beds should be cleaned after every use with a product that disenfects such as Novus tanning bed cleaner.
