∙ 13y agoWell I am going to assume you have a navel gem or a bent barbell and the ball is sinking into the top hole of the piercing (this is because your question wasn't clear enough). That would be a sign that the piercing jewellery is too short for the piercing and you are going through some swelling. You should get into your local body piercing studio and have the jewellery changed as soon as possible, left unresolved this can cause serious issues for your piercing. All piercings discharge during the initial stages of healing, this discharge matter needs to be washed away daily so the piercing can heal. If the matter is left and not cleaned away the piercing can swell and become infected. Aftercare is a daily requirement and not an option, it needs to be done every day to maintain a health piercing. If the jewellery is too short it can block the entry and exit points of the piercing stopping the piercing discharge from draining and thus causing further complications to occur.
Well actually that's not a good thing, the barbell was too short for the piercing to allow for swelling, the expansion of the piercing hole is and indication of some sensitivity to the metal or the aftercare product you are using. Consider seeing your piercer tomorrow to have them take a look.
It sounds like the bar isn't long enough to accommodate for swelling so the ball is embeding. Go back to your piercer as soon as possible or the ball could be engulfed.
Most piercings swell afterwards....This is why we use jewelry a little longer than necessary for the initial piercing, to accommodate for the swelling....Whoever pierced yours used too short a jewelry....In a day or two it MAY go down but if it doesn't it will swell over the ball and have to be cut out.....Hope this helps
When I got my lip pierced, they already had the jewelry with them, because they have to use a special, longer stud to accomodate swelling. Perhaps if you brought you're own ball(s), they would screw those onto the stud instead of the regular ones.
It sounds like the barbell is too short. Go see your piercer asap as they may need to lengthen the barbell to allow for more swelling. When i had mine done, the same happened. This was because the top ball made an indent into the skin, just as though you sat on a beanbag it sinks to your shape. If it isn't painful then this is the problem. i hoped i helped =] X
I have been missing my top ball for three years with no problem
Well it should look like a tongue with a barbell running through it, the distention (mild swelling) around the piercing is normal and no cause for concern
Hold the back of it and if the ball is on really tight twist hard.
I have both my lip and belly button pierced. I had my belly button pierced with a hoop and my lip pierced with a bar/stud. The belly button was more irritating then the lip because a hoop piercing requires the piercer to clamp it shut and fiddle around with a new pierced part instead of just screwing a ball on. I recommend any new piercings to be with a bar/stud as it is quicker and less irritating. Put it this way, I'm going for a 2nd lip piercing and not another belly button piercing ;)
This usually refers to a tongue piercing object - small, silver ball shaped.
yes it is a divet from the ball resting
