I think there is because you can write with your nail polish on your nail.

Correction: Original answerer, you're incorrect. Most brands do not. The only brand I know of that does is Blackheart Beauty, the kind sold at Hot Topic in the skull shaped bottle. It makes marks simply because of the fact that it is an enamel.

Blackheart, the brand they sell at Hot Topic in the skull shaped bottle. I bought and used three bottles before going to their site and stumbled upon a warning not to chew on your nails while wearing it because you could get lead poisoning. The warning for California just says "chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects" but another warning for Illinois specifies lead. These warnings exist because California and Illinois have laws that require these kinds of warnings to be listed. As long as you don't suck on your fingers (for whatever reason) or bite your nails you will be fine. The warnings has since been removed.

It does not. If nail polish gets in the body though you could be poisoned and possibly die.
