Here are a few things to take into consideration: Claire's has a 2 hour training course, where a piercing apprenticeshipcan take years.
Claire's uses the stud to pierce. It is a sharpened piece of metal slammed into the flesh. Piercers use a needle with tribeval edges to slice and separate the skin, causing less trauma.
Claire's uses studs of unknown metal and a backing which becomes a bacteria trap, piercers use surgical steel or implant-grade titanium bars and hoops, which has minimal surface area to clean and maintain.
The piercing gun cannot be properly sterilized, and for the most part, they wipe it down with rubbing alcohol. That is an antiseptic, not a sterilization fluid. Piercers use single use needles, and both the jewelry and the needle are sterilized using an autoclave before use (if you doubt that something has been properly sterilized, ask to see the autoclave or ask to watch the needles being opened, no one will mind). The used needles are placed in biohazard containers to be disposed of properly according to state standards.
A piercer will also give you up to date aftercare procedures, usually mandated by the Association of Professional Piercers (APP), where you generally get bad, or no information from Claire's.
The choice is yours but have all the information first, Talk with the people at Claire's and ask about sterilization, training, blood borne pathogen certification and so on. Then talk with a professional piercer. Ask the same questions, and compare your results.
People assume that Claires is a bad place to get your ears pierced because they use piercing guns, which are bad- not true. I got my ears pierced at Claires and have never had a problem with them.
1= Sliver 10= Hit by a bus 2 Nothing that serious
I am not gonna say no but it isnt the best idea because its WALMART. Not the most sanitary i am sure.
I would rather get 20 ear.Cheek piercings are finicky and can get infected much easier. Ive never had a cheek piercing so i wouldn't know but it sounds quite painful and ears pierced isn't that bad so i would go with ears pierced 20 times
It isn't too bad. You hear a click and then a small short pain. On a scale of one to ten with one as nothing and 10 the worse it is about a 4.
You need to have a talk with your piercer.
Yes, it's possible to get a keloid on your tongue.
I have gotten my ears pierced at Clair's only once, 6 years ago, and have had no problems with my ears except for them turning red but they have never gotten infected or have hurt, however, if you have sensitive ears I wouldn't advise you to go to Claire's thus they do use a piercing gun which just pushes the tissues of your ears to the side which can cause damage, it isn't a bad thing to get a piercing at Claire's just remember that it isn't the best place to get it done.
Although she said years ago that she couldn't wait until she turns 13 so she can get her ears pierced, Dakota has yet to take the plunge. Too bad... she'd be adorable with some nice hoops or shoulder-length dangle earrings in her ears!
It's for expanding the size of the holes pierced for earrings. Some people think it looks cool.
They are unsure about him, They think he is aggressive and bad. But they dont know the real him!
Actually, its really bad for your piercings. It kills healthy cells that help your ears heal. Use natural sea salt and warm water to clean them.
