The quickest & healthiest way is to do "the chop"; shave your head or cut nearly all your hair off & start over as growing out your relaxer will take a long time & can that can be disheartening. However, if you do not want to do that for whatever reason, here are tips:
Get a trim or a brand new haircut! If you can't part with long hair, just get your hair stylist to cut off the ends. Or better yet, get a short hair cut.
Stop all the damage you're doing to your hair. Put blow-dryers, flat irons and brushes away. Instead, let hair air-dry after showering, and make sure you towel your hair dry by blotting/patting, not rubbing.
Don't wash your hair too frequently. The natural oils that build up replenish the moisture and delay damage. If possible, try to wash your hair 1-2 times a week.
Always use conditioner after shampooing. (Only neaten up your hair/part it with a wide tooth comb while your hair has conditioner in it) If your hair is thick, you can use a heavy conditioner daily as long as you rinse it out. If your hair is fine, use a lighter conditioner
Use deep-conditioning treatments 1-3 times a week. Expensive brands are not needed - extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil are inexpensive oils that penetrate into the hair's cortex, truly repairing it and not just coating the hair strand.
Protect your hair when you go out.Use snag-free hair ties, and avoid tying hair too tightly. If that makes hair too greasy, use a leave-in conditioner with moisturizing ingredients and a UV filter to protect hair from the sun's harmful rays. You can even wear a hat when you go out.
