There are many ways. I split my hair down the middle or a little to one side so I can have to braid going down the side of my head.

Grab three pieces of hair like a regular braid. Twist it once as usual and grab a piece of hair from one side. Add it into one of the three pieces and twist once like a normal braid. Get another piece of hair and add it into one of the three pieces. You do that the whole way down until you run out of hair.

I suggest looking videos up on YouTube. Describing is very hard. Especially on the internet.
to french braid your own hair takes alot of practice. Before doing it on myself i practiced it on my old dolls and now im extremly good at it! Im only twelve and i learned it when i was ten so im sure any body could figure it out, i have a couple of solutions

1. watch videos and learn that way!

2. ask any woman in your family! Im sure someone can show you :)

3. Just listen to my steps and try to understand it ;p

How to french braid your own hair.

1. wash your hair or make sure it is damp before braiding it. This will make the curls more defined.

2. Just a tip- take a shower at night then do your hair and sleep in them. It makes your morning something to look forward to!!!

3. Get supplies

- hair brush or comb

-two hair ties

-a mirror

- some hair;p

- and PRACTICE

4. first, on the top of your head take three strands like you would in a normal braid, then braid normally, once.

5.after that first braid, whichever strand of hair you would cross over next take in your hand and add in some hair from the side

6. now cross over( the tighter it is, the cooler it looks!!!)

7. now holding the other strands do the same thing with the next strand you will cross over. Remember add on hair then cross over. Sooner or later you get very quick at it. But remeber anything like this takes time and practice. :)

8. Now do that all the way down until you get to the point where you dont have any more hair to add into the braid.

9. At this point just braid down with your three strands that you had in the begining until you want to tie it.

10. Repeat on the other side and your all set!!!

The braids should come out looking crimped and beuatiful, AND ROCKIN!!! So if you dont feel like putting twenty or thirty little braids in your hair for the same effect just do these steps!!!

p.s If its your first time trying french braids, i beg you dont do it on a day where your going out in public and if you are and it doesnt turn out right make sure you have a streightener. im only saying this because my hair used to be diffrent and my hair turned out great after french braids but with my new hairstyl( scene hair) it doesnt turn out to well. So i suggest for the first few times, try it out on the weekends!!!! Peace out homies!!! gtg do my homework :p
