As long as your flow is sufficient for the absorbency, yes.
General rule of thumb - use lowest absorbency; if the tampon leaks within 1-2 hours use the next absorbency up, if the tampon is not saturated with blood after 4-6 hours use lower absorbency or switch to pads. Even if the tampon is a lower absorbency than needed chances are you will not bleed through within just one hour.
Yes but only if you put a tampon in. You can also if your flow isn't heavy. It could get heavy in the pool though, so i recomend putting a tampon in. Thx Amanda!
uhh.. wear a "heavy flow" tampon?
In some cases it does. I would still highly recommend a tampon because there is the high risk that you can still leak. The pressure from the water is what "stops" it. If you were to cough, laugh, or sneeze, the pressure of the blood exiting the body could change and result in a leak. Good Luck!
Don't worry just use a big tampon or panty liner
You need to weAR A tampon. Or if your not sure if a tampon will protect you fully, wear a panty liner.
in place of tampon or pad...depends on how heavy
no you can not go swimming when your period is heavy. When it is at they very end and its not that heavy your period will not stop in the water, but will be held back. Also, if you go swimming and you have your period when you get out of the pool it might start to drip down your leg.
Hi Heavy bleeding like this needs to be investigated by your doctor. Bleeding that is so heavy that it requires you to change your pad or tampon every 1-2 hours, is too heavy and definitely needs to be told to your doctor.
I had a tampon in and forgot to remove it when I went to bed. I have a heavy flow during the beginning of menstruation and when I went to the bathroom I thought I felt it fall out on its own, but when I looked in the toilet it was too red to see the tampon. I have checked twice and I cannot feel it inside me, is it safe to use another tampon?
A conventional tampon such as a rayon tampon like Tampax or a cotton tampon like Natracare is around an inch and a half long. A soft tampon like Beppy is only about an inch wide and a quarter of an inch deep. A sponge tampon size will vary depending on how heavy your flow, but often is around the size of a golf ball. A cloth tampon size will vary depending on how long it is made.
If you're going through a super or ultra absorbency tampon within an hour then you need to see your doctor, possibly go to an emergency room if the bleeding is heavy enough to suggest hemorrhaging or if you start to feel ill. If you're leaking through a lighter absorbency tampon then it may simply be that you need a higher absorbency tampon for your flow. Heavy flow itself is not a problem, if you're in your teens your flow may tend to be heavier, if your heavy flow continues it's best to talk to your doctor about lightening it with tranexamic acid and looking into why it's heavy.
yes penguins are too heavy to fly. and their wings are used for swimming.
