A queen size mattress is always 60 inches wide by 80 inches long. This is pretty standard. I suppose there will be some exceptions but you can pretty much count on those dimensions.

In the parlance of mattress salesmen (I used to be one), a queen is a "5/0". Meaning, 5 ft and zero inches in width. A twin is a 3/3, a full is a 4/6, a California King (popular on the West Coast) is a 6/0, and an Eastern King is a 6/6.

Twins and Fulls (AKA Doubles) are 75" long, while Queens and Eastern Kings are 90 long. A California King is 84 long.
