The major difference is that Swingline staplers have staples that are only designed for used with this type of stapler. Additionally, a Swingline stapler uses heavy-duty staples that have a minimum of 135,000 PSI wire for greater tensile strength.
Amazon.com offers mini staples (1,000 - 10,000 per package) for the Swingline Tot 50 staplers.
They don't. The "standard" stapler is the Swingline 747, which is designed to hold a full strip of staples. Smaller staplers like they sell for home use are shorter than the 747, so you have to break the strips of staples to get them in.
You load the staples from the back of the stapler, there is a thumb depression on the back of it. Look and you will see it.

If an electric Swingline stapler becomes jammed, open it up and remove the staples. Then you can use a tweezers or something similar to grasp the jammed staple and pull it out.

After I searched this topic for our Vintage Ace Liner 502 stapler, I found they take standard staples but not the usual standard staples. These are Ace standard staples. I haven't bought them yet, but in looking at all the vintage Ace 502 staplers for sale the recommendation is standard staples, so it must mean their companies standard staples.
There is a button in the back, right above where the charger plugs into the stapler. Push the button and the staple holder pops out.
I had the same problem. I went to a Sears Hardware store. They did not have Swingline staplers and did not know, so I guessed. I brought it home and used it. It worked. I purchased a box of Craftsman Wire Staples #974458. It indicated that it was for use with Craftsman, Duo-Fast and Black and Decker Cobra Manual and Electric Staplers.
