All 2002 nickels have a picture of Monticello on the back. The only Jefferson nickels to carry an image of a buffalo (actually a bison) were dated 2005 and they're only worth face value if you find them in change.
If they are dated 1964 or before, they are worth at the very least around $2.15 each, if they are dated 1965 or later, they are simply worth 10 cents.
All circulating quarters dated 1965 and later, and most proof quarters, are made of copper-nickel. They don't contain any silver. If you found it in change and it has a D or P mint mark, it's only worth 25 cents. If your coin has an S mint mark, it's a proof coin that was made for sale to collectors. If it has a copper-colored edge it's also made of copper-nickel and might sell for $2 to $10 as of 05/2010. If it's in a special holder labelled "Prestige Proof", then it IS a silver coin and is worth $8 to $17.
Assuming the dimes are all dated 1965 or later, each one weighs 2.27 gm. Any dated 1964 or earlier weigh 2.5 gm.
If you found it in change and it has a P or D mint mark next to the bow in Washington's wig, none. All circulation-strike quarters dated 1965 and later are made of copper-nickel, not silver. Some special "Prestige Proof" quarters were struck for collectors. These have an S mint mark and should be in special packages identifying them as Prestige coins. Values range from $5 to $20 depending on quality and which state is shown.

A US nickel dated 1962 contains no silver - it is 25% nickel and 75% copper.
Priceless. The first Jefferson nickel was dated 1938.
No U.S. Nickels are dated 1700. The first nickel was issued in 1866.
It's still worth 5 cents.
The first US nickel was dated 1866 so this can't be a nickel, please look at the date again and post a new question.
You have a Liberty Head Nickel dated 1909, the V on the reverse is the Roman numeral 5. Coins in average condition have values of $1.00-$3.00
VDB is a designation for some 1909 dated cents it has nothing to do with nickels and there is no such thing as a VDB nickel.
The last Indian Head Nickel was dated 1938. Post new question.
Look at the date again. NO Washington quarter should have a date before 1932. Double headed and double tailed coins are called magician's coins and are made by machining and joining parts from two real quarters. They have no numismatic value but are sold by novelty shops for $5 - $10 and are available on eBay for $2 - $3.
Check that coin again. The buffalo nickel wasn't first minted until 1913, and the first nickel wasn't introduced until 1866.
Anything dated 1965 and after is copper and nickel, no silver.
