It is a weld made by melting the edges of the materials to be joined, but adding no filler metal to the weld.

∙ 7y agoAn autogenous weld is one where filler metal is not used for joining. the weld is produced by fusion of the parts by melting. It does not use force to bond the parts, only the heat produced which cause melting of the base materials.
A heterogeneous weld corresponds to a weld that is realized with a different filler alloy than the base metal. At the opposite, a homogeneous weld is realized with same filler alloy than the base metal. Finally, an autogenous weld is done without filler alloy. The joining is realized by melting only the base metal. A.B.
why is it important only to strike the arc in the weld joint
Threading joint, weld joint, Flanges joint
joint can be defined as two metals pieces come togather, this can be inform of flat. while in weld the joint is made by fuse both pieces togather
A butt joint in stainless steel is created by aligning two pieces of stainless steel and welding or fastening them together at their edges. This joint is commonly used in stainless steel fabrication to join two pieces in a straight line without overlapping. Butt joints are often stronger when welded compared to when fastened with mechanical fasteners.
probably a weld.
A welder utilizes technical drawings to determine what type of joint he must weld , joint preparation, where on the joint the weld must be placed, the size of the weld, and so on . Certain structures require this specific information , in order to be safe , sound , etc.
A slot weld is a weld type made in an elongated hole (or "slot") in one of the joint members.
It is the first pass in a multiple weld joint.
It is the first pass in a multiple weld joint.
In welding, the ratio of the strength of a joint to the strength of the base metal expressed in percent.----
