If the engine is "cranking" then it is "turning over". Please be more specific.
How to reset or turn off the VTD-Cranking signal on a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am SE 2.4 Twin Cams
it could be the factory alarm system
It could be that the battery is dead or your starter is bad.
it could either be a bad beattery or a bad starter
umm...my best guess would be to take it to a shop!
you might need a stronger battery. check the cranking amps and upgrade.
Could be, (assuming the starter is not cranking the engine) a bad starter, dirty or loose battery connections, the engine is seized.
2001 grand prix wont turn over keep trying and it kills the battery
When you say it won't start, are you referring to the grand am won't turn over as in it's dead or are you asking what's wrong when it does turn over but won't start?
BAttery?, starter? ignition switch?
if your talking about when your cranking the engine over with the cap off, then you have a broken distributor gear or shaft or bad camshaft gear.
