It is in the fire wall behind the heater box.
There isn't a block heater, unless the previous owner installed one.
Take it to a mechanic.
Behind A/C and heater control panel, in center console.
It's part of the heater core assembly so it's behind your glove box
The heater core is located behind the dash inside the heater core box with two ports, an inlet and an outlet port protruding through the firewall into the engine compartment.
Replace the heater control valve motor, a dealer part, costs around $166.00.ish
your heater will be cold, or your engine can over heat. your car can take a long time to heat up. Your inside heater will be cool, or your engine temp. will over heat.
You don't. It's a major process, you have to remove the entire dash including the steering wheel, center counsel, air bags. everything. To remove the heater hoses from the fire wall are a headache. And to find a Heater Core is a another chore. I replaced the heater core in my 96 Eclipse. I took me 2 month's to find a heater core, the local parts stores could not get one in a timley matter. I had to order it from a dealer in New Jersey. I live in New Mexico. You sell the car and take a loss if you need to. The whole process takes about 2 full days.
You need to remove the dash panel. It will allow you to get access to many connectors and it will be easier to remove the harness.
It's a much better idea to replace it. You can try the radiator flush, but no guarantee.
