You can vacuum, blow or brush them clean. Just make sure that you don't bend the fins over. Hosing them out with water would probably make too much of a mess but it could work if you dismount the unit and carry it outside.

Does watering down ac unit help to cool down house?

That's a good way to blow up your AC unit. Some have to be filled with CFCs, but I'm not sure about yours. Spraying it with water is just a waste. (window ac units work off water cause if ur coils are dirty it will keep it clean and run bette so in theory it does work to spray it off Eric from michigan )

Do you need to remove the dash board to remove the air conditioning unit?

Ac fan on the inside is not running but outside unit fan is on?

The inside fan blows air through the ac coils to cool the air. It should be on a separate breaker or fuse circuit from the outside unit. See if there is a fuse box on the side of the inside unit and check the breakers in the house main breaker box. Also stand quietly beside the inside unit and listen for the fan motor running. If the motor is heard running then either the fan drive belt has broken, or the ac coils are clogged preventing air from flowing.

What does it mean when water is dripping from the ac unit in the house How do you stop your central AC from dripping water in the return air vent?

Water will condense in the inside unit of the air conditioner. This is because the coils in the unit get cold (ad expected) and moisture in the air condenses on them like moisture on a cold glass. There should be a drain inside the unit to drain this water. Check that it isn't clogged.

Maintaining Your AC Unit?

Your AC unit needs to have annual maintenance performed on it to keep it in top condition and save money on your utility bill. Your AC unit will need a professional to come out and clean the coils, clear out any debris, check the freon levels and check the electrical circuitry. Without this routine maintenance, your AC compressor could freeze up due to overuse and strain on the system. You will then be left at the mercy of the AC repair company that may not be able to get to you in a timely manner. Repair costs can exceed any money spent in routine maintenance.

How do you clean the coils on your ac unit?

To clean your indoor evaporator coil, the contractor will most likely clear larger debris by hand or with a special brush, then follow up by applying a self-rinsing evaporator oil product. This product will clean the coil effectively and rinse off during the cooling process when the system is turned on.
