The basic rule of thumb is to have a 2 second gap between you and the vehicle in front in dry conditions.
tailgate
You shouldn't drive close at all in poor driving conditions. Give yourself plenty of space between you and the car in front of you and slow down.
You can drive as close as is allowed by law without it being considered tailgating. You should, however, try to keep at least 200 feet of distance between you and the dump truck.
You should not drive too close to a motorcycle when you are behind it. The distance depends on the speed. With increased speed, the distance increases. Allow plenty of room, which in my opinion means over a hundred meters or more.
7 car behind
You double your distance in the rain. the seconds method is only a practices guide for beginners.
Check your local laws; in some states it is illegal to drive in the left lane unless you are passing someone. Personally, if you are going the speed limit or above, I do not think it's necessary to get into the right lane; let the other person go around you.
You shouldn't come too close or too far away. At least a foot away and usually you try to aim the ball and get a homerun, run, or a line drive.
After awhile your disk drive cams will fail and therefore wont open or close the drive. You should stop slamming it shut and just press the button to close the drive.
If you are behind a truck and you CAN NOT see his mirrors then you're in his blind spot and he can't see you.
should be right behind the fan drive safe
Allow a minimum of 3 seconds of braking distance at 55 MPH, add an extra second for each 5 MPH increase in speed.
