Changing a rubber seal on the inner side of a washing machine door is not too difficult. You must follow instructions carefully. Open the door and find the clamp that is holding the seal in place, this can usually be removed with a flat screwdriver. Once that is removed there may be a smaller one that can be taken off the same way, remove this also. Remove the band with a little tension using both hands.
To clean mold off the rubber seal, put 1/2 a tablespoon of bleach in the machine and run it empty, or put 1/4 a teaspoon in 1 cup of water and let it sit for 20 minutes.
The most likely cause of a washing machine leak is a small hole in the rubber door seal which can be easily replaced. As a temporary measure the seal can be loosened and twisted 180degrees until the top is at the bottom. Probably a bad tub bearing. Live with it, or get a new machine. +++ It won't be the bearing because the shaft is outside of the drum, but it could be a leak on one of the pipe joints, or (as happened on mine) on the pump, which does use a shaft running through a bush and seal from the inside to the outside of the pump body.
you rip off or scrape the old stuff apply adhesive where the old stuff was and then apply the new rubber seal

Replace the rubber seal. You could seal with silicone but you would be unable to open it again.
