( No ) not as long as the surface has " give " such as gravel / grass / snow / dirt etcetera . Of course your speed is quite limited in four wheel drive LOW The last time I used four wheel drive LOW was to drive out of a snow filled ditch beside a highway
Overdrive keeps your engine RPMs low when you drive faster than 45 mph Its there for fuel economy If you drive without OD it doesnt hurt anything at all except your gas mileage
The light is NOT a low oil light. It is a low OIL PRESSURE light. You can drive it until the engine seizes. Of course internal engine damage will start to occur as soon as the light comes on and you have no oil pressure if you continue to drive the vehicle.
Yes, if you want to destroy your engine.
Diesel will not burn in a gas engine, flash point to low; it may clog things up but nothing permanent
I've used four wheel drive LOW a few times ( the surface has to have " give " and the speed is limited ) * in the winter time to drive out of a snow filled ditch along a highway , to drive out of a muddy road when I got stuck , and to drive up a hill when I had to go offroad ( in the last 18 + years )
Basically highway driving over 45 MPH when minimal power is needed Overdrive - hi-speed/low power
Not legally if used for on highway use. If it is ultra low sulfur it will not harm the engine.
Commonly, vehicles with four-wheel drive have two ranges: high and low. Low range is better for towing or accelerating quickly, but with limited top speed. High range is the opposite (better for highway driving, around town, etc.)
With the engine running , and the vehicle stopped with your foot on the brake pedal shift the transmission to NEUTRAL and then rotate your selector switch to 4X4 low then put in drive / reverse ( to switch back from 4X4 low to 2 wheel drive , with the engine running , and the vehicle stopped with your foot on the brake pedal , shift to NEUTRAL and then rotate your selector switch to 2 wheel drive then put in drive / reverse )
