An SI engine ignites the fuel with a spark (SI = Spark Ignition) whereas the CI engine ignites the fuel with heat generated from compression (CI = compression ignition)
SI stands for Spark Ignition. eg. Petrol Engine.
An SI engine is a spark ignition engine. A CI engine is a compression ignition engine. SI engines use spark plugs to ignite fuel in the combustion chamber. CI engines use compression in the combustion chamber to ignite the fuel.
SI engine means Spark Ignition Engine where combustion products(air, fuel)are ignited in combustion chamber by means of spark from spark plug which is located on cylinder head..CI engine means Compression Ignition Engine, here combustion is take place by means of compression..

The best spark plug for a stock civic si is ngk.
It is in the front of the block between where the second and third spark plug wires connect with the engine. It took me a while to find it myself.
Any engine lite usually means emission problems. Your spark plugs or wires could be faulty or just dirty.
The first thing to do if one cylinder is not firing on a 1989 Honda Civic SI, is to disconnect the battery. Then remove the spark plug wire and the spark plug. Check to see that there is no oil on the plug and it has the right gap measurement. Then replace the spark plug and wire and try the engine again. If it is still misfiring, change the spark plug. If that does not fix the problem, have a compression check done for that cylinder.
Dts-si is a digital twin spark-swirl induction .as quite clear from the name itself that it consist of two spark plugs and the fuel is provided a whirl before entering in to the combustion chamber.the swirl is provided so as to make sure that fuel does not makes contact with the hot spot that can lead to pre-ignition of fuel and two spark plugs ensure complete combustion of fuel
