did they want freedom
It should idle at aprox 650 rpms warmed up.
The rpms need to be high enough to keep the engine running. Most engines need at least 850 rpms to keep from stalling.
If the Yukon engine has high rpm while driving, check the transmission for slippage, that will cause the engine to over rev. The overheating could be caused by the high rpms.
Obviously depends on RPMs. Normally 15-20psi at idle. Could be as high as 30-40psi when the engine is under high RPMs.
It stands for sport and when you drive with it there it lets the engine rev higher for any given speed. So say at 40MPH in drive the rpms might be 3000 and in sport at 40 mph it might be 4000 rpms.
lower rpms use less gas higher rpms have more power
An engine revving to high RPMs could be a symptom of many conditions. The potential cause?æalso depends on whether this happens?æwhile idling or while driving.
theres no specific sound it all depends on your RPMS
The high RPMs and cause rapid wear and high temperatures. Overall, if it seems to have broken, then it is broken, otherwise it isn't.
If you have an engine that idles at 6000 rpms, you need to have it checked - immediately. Around 750 rpms would be normal.
The 60-horsepower VW engine has a torque specification of 115 pounds at 2000 RPMs. The engine will have 130 pounds of torque at 2500 RPMs.
