No it doesn't.
You put the key in the ignition and turn, you don't need a fob in order to start a car.
Ive not got an answer, I have had my megane for six months. I open my car with the fob turn the ignition, sontimes its starts and sometimes it dosent. I have to take my key out of the ignition lock and unlock the car. It just seems to start when it feels like it. Anyone got any advice.
No, You do not need a key fob to start a car. When starting a car, you put the key in the ignition and turn. Power comes from car battery, not from the key fob battery!
put fresh battery in fob, the put ur car keys in the ignition, start the engine and then press any button on the fob that should reset the fob. good luck
Get in touch with a Rover dealer, tell them the problem, they can find out the code for your lock on the door. That way you will not need your fob to open the doors or immobilise it.
Weak battery in fob?
Hold the key fob next to the start button.
The Key Fob for cars are the buttons, which depending on the type of car and type of Fob have to be programed a certain way.
renault megane 55 plate key fob starts car but does not lock car
== == If I remember right - you remove fob battery, hold both buttons down fro 30 seconds. Replace battery, stand next to driver door and hold down both buttons for 30 seconds. It is either this or very similar sequence - it has worked for me. R call a locksimth to have your remote reprogramed you lost your signal
Owner's manualAnswerI don't have enough information about your car to tell you how to do it, but here's how they all work: The key fob is a radio transmitter that sends an ID sequence (the serial number of the fob) out when you press the button. Any key fob that works for any car like yours has the potential to be used to unlock your car doors. The question you want answered is "how do I tell my car's computer to respond to the key fob I have?"Generally the car stops listening to your key fobs if the power is cut to the battery. There's a sequence that you need to follow to tell the car's computer to go into learning mode. Once the computer is ready to learn, you'll need to press any button on each fob that you want your car to listen to. You'll need all of the fobs at once. The dealer will be happy to do this for you for a fee. I've had pretty good luck searching Google groups for specific information about how to do this. I recommend that you search Google groups for the make, model, year and the keyword RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) or some variation of those.Good luck!
