cuz your application of clutch and gas is out of proportion. Either your letting your clutch out to fast or your applying to much gas which causes your engine revs to dictate a higher speed than your car is traveling when you let out your clutch, thus causing your to jerk.
you just need to practice more and pay attention to how fast your releasing your clutch and how much gas your giving it as you switch gears. sometimes reeving the engine a little higher before shifting can help too. Just be careful that you don't let the clutch out too slowly because doing so repetitively can damage the clutch and cause premature failure.
If your really new at driving stick try asking someone you know that is good at shifting to show you how and pay attention to when they shift and how much gas they give it as they shift.
Good luck
i have a 95 es300 but it doesnt jerk when i change gears when i ride it jerks but i found out it was a motor mount front motor mount which will cost bout $112 to replace but if when you change gears it could be your transmission slipping that cant be goo but check your motor mounts first....
your transmission wears after time, try getting a fluid change, use fluid made for older cars this should help slow down wear and make the jerk much less noticeable
The "lockup torque converter" could be engaging too soon. Take it to a transmission shop to have it diagnosed.
try changing the transmission filter, take it to a mechanic to change because the metal ring is a pain in the butt to get out. If you do it yourself you will find out what im talking about.
Lack of transmission fluid.
what causes my thunsercat to jerk in all gears on a steady throttle?
If it pulls to the side of the transmission it could have a transmission problem in the future or a bad cv joint on that side.
the only solution that you can affect at home is to check fluid level, and change the fluid and filter this should be done about every 30,000 miles, all other issues need to be dealt with by a reputable transmission specialist.
Some of the early signs of transmission trouble will be gear slipping (this is usually felt as a jerk of the car when it changes gears), or loud engine "reving" as it start to take off. Some transmissions fail in the top gears which means that you wont be able to get to your top speed.
Its normal for most manual cars the clutch is basically shifting gears in the engine but if you are accelrating shifting gears higher it could jerk a little bit so it can lock the gear and preset the engine to the desired gear Now if this is an automatic here you are not hitting the brake pedal fully Transmission fluid is low or empty Or it can be just old so it can jerk a bit to get into gear... however it is potentially bad for an automatic car because it has more parts and the thing it would do the most harm to is the gearbox.
possible problems: broken engine mounts cause the engine to jerk, or tranmission fluid needs change, and possibly bad transmission.
Depends. Most likely cases: On a standard: Poor shifting on the driver's part. On an automatic: Transmission problems, get it checked.
