Your selector should be in the neutral position. Select 4WD H, and move selector into drive. Your light should stay on. If the light is turning off, you may have a problem with the actuator or hubs. Sometimes going from Park to Drive, your 4WD will disengage.
because the lights are not controlled by the ignition switch; they are controlled by a separate light switch.
Bad ignition switch?
The security light flashes when a programed key is not installed in the ignition, when you insert a programed immobilizer key in the ignition the security light will go out, the light flashes as a theft deterrent
Turn on the ignition and look at the dash. The light will come on and stay on for a few seconds to let you know it is working.
Could be an alternator issue.
Set your light switch to "auto" on the dash and your lights will come on automatically with the ignition. Turn your light switch on your dashboard to "auto" or "automatic" and the lights will come on and off with your ignition switch.
Turn igniton to on position and put odometer in trip mode, turn off ignition. Hold trip button in and hold it in as you turn ignition to on position, it will flash Turn off ignition. Maintenance light should go and stay off
your beam selector lever is prob. busted and needs 2 be replaced. or its a wiring prob. check some fuses and the wires to the selector if everything is ok there, then you prob need a new selector
i have found this problem to be caused by the ignition switch that is mounted on top of the stering colum under the dash. if you have ABS, the ABS light will stay on and the trans will not shift.
This was already answered for me in another post. It was the ignition switch.
The voltage reg is sticking and will run down the battery.
