The spark plugs are located on your head for the first three, when you open your hood and you find the metaling (head) that says 24 valve V6, there are 3 plug type things on there, those are the spark plugs, the last three, are under the plenum.
Remove the plastic cover on top of the camshaft cover (the cover reads VOLVO 24 VALVE. You will need a Torx 24 to remove the fasteners and a 10mm socket to remove the coils above the spark plugs.
The exat location of the spark plugs depends on whether you have a 3.0 DOHC 24 valve engine or a 3.0 OHV 12 valve engine. Follow the spark plug wires, which are the large grey colored electrical wires you see near the top of the engine. They will lead you right to the spark plugs.
you will have to remove the front wheels and go through the wheel well. it is nessasary to have a 24" extension to reach the plugs.
Check the Vehicle Emissions Control Information ( VECI ) decal , located in the front of your engine compartment . It will show the type of spark plugs used and the spark plug gap
same as with a 97. under the aluminum cover on top of the engine.
