The 4180 Holley carb vacuum helps with transmission performance on heavy vehicles. This Holley 4180 carb is a secondary function attached to a transmission.
Yes, it's the Holley 1940. You can get them from Champion Carburetor.

put a holley on it. its much easier. why would u take the rodchester off anyway? its a better carb if redone rite. you can drill out the rear main needle and seats and put holley parts in it and it will out flow any street carb made.
Mercurys were equipped with Autolite 4100, if a 4-barrel, or the Autolite 2100 if a 2-barrel. The Autolite 4100 is one of the finest carbs ever made. It was designed by Holley and is a square-bore carb similar to the HOlley 4150.

A holley carb can range in price from as low as $100 up to as much as $750 depending on the specifications of what the individual is looking for, and where they are looking.
for a start a holley needs tuning nearly every week. the 390 did not have a holley as standard, but the holley carb is a cheap replacement. find a mechanic that knows how to tune a holley and that may fix the problem. holley carbs are good on race cars ,especially when there is time between races to retune them.
Unless you modify the intake manifold with some welding an adapter plate is required to install a Weber or Holley 5200 carb on a Mazda B2200 or B2000. The adapter plate for the Weber 32/36 will work to install the Holley 5200 as well. See the attached links for additional information.
Sounds like the carb needs a bigger discharge nozzle and possibly a different cam for the accelerator pump. There are some good books on the subject of tuning a Holley carb. Might want to start with reading what's available on Holley's website.
Depends on the engine and carb set-up as well as the weight of the drivers foot on the accelerator. I have a 1973 F 250 with a 460 and a Holley 650 carb and I get right about 7 MPG. I can get as little as 4 MPG if I drive it like it wants to be driven. Definitely NOT the vehicle to be driving around in for fun!
