your engine will run too lean.
An engine runs by the combustion of a mixture of oxygen and gasoline. If this mix has too much oxygen, it is said to run lean. When the mixture has too much gasoline in relation to oxygen, it is running rich.
Severe Vacuum leak.
Could be that the air/fuel mixture is set too lean. Needs adjustment.
Possibly the coolant temperature sensor. Once it heats up the sensor takes action and if it's malfunctioning it could cause it to run lean....or too rich. Possibly the coolant temperature sensor. Could be too much timing, too much compression for the type of fuel being used, or maybe a vacuum leak creating a lean condition.
You would be disappointed with the performance. The engine may run too lean. Get too warm. Also you would hear ticking noise from the engine
Running lean basically means that your Air Fuel Ratio is off and there is more air than fuel, which creates a lean condition. It is called the "Stoichiometric" value. The correct ratio is 14.7 parts air to one part fuel. If you are running for instance a ratio of 16 to 1 then that is lean. Basically too much air when compared to optimal air fuel mix. A ratio of 12 to 1 is too rich. The problem with a lean condition is that the engine will run hot. Normal logic would suggest that with less fuel there would be less heat generated, but it is not the case. A lean condition will actually make the engine run hotter.
P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1)
engine is possibly running on too lean a fuel-air mix, should be a little screw on carburettor to adjust fuel-air mix.
There could be a vacuum leak somewhere causing the engine to idle too fast. It would also cause the engine to run too lean and possibly burn a piston.
o2 sensor out of range, misfire if running rough, too lean injector , fuel filter???
