Remove the water supply lines from your 1990 Ford E3 50 heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new heater core.

Open both front doors, remove everything, replace heater core, reinstall everything. Don't laugh, that is pretty much what you have to do. If you want to tackle the job yourself I would suggest purchasing a shop manual for that vehicle to help you through step by step.

It could be from many areas such as the water pump, the radiator, radiator hoses, heater hoses, heater core, freeze plugs, intake manifold gaskets, etc. Take a good flash light and try to locate the source of the coolant leak. If you have no luck that way take it to your local garage and they can pressure test the coolant system to force the leak.
The heater core itself, should be under $50. Installation aprox $300 to $400.
