127 kilometres taking E66.
440 km. It is a long, but not unpleasant trip via Al Ain and across the mountains. Dont do it at night as the trucks wont stop for anything!Al Ain is actually 140km from Abu Dhabi and not 440km.There is two ways to get to Al Ain from Abu Dhabi. There is what's known as the 'truck road' which, as stated above, is not an advisable route! I have done 3 trips to Al Ain now and thoroughly enjoy the roughly two hours drive. I leave the city on airport road, drive past the Dubai exit, and follow all signs to Al Ain.

Abu Dhabi is the capital of United Arab Emirates, a country made up of 7 emirates. Abu Dhabi is in itself an Emirate (like a state or region), and is also a city. The other main city in Abu Dhabi is Al Ain.
Al Ain is the second largest city in Abu Dhabi and the fourth largest city in the United Arab Emirates. Al Ain literally translates as "The Spring" and the city is also known as the Garden City.
