The same thing happened to me. It's the brake lights switch either under or over the brake pedal. The same thing happened to me. It's the brake lights switch either under or over the brake pedal.
my back brake lights don't work, but the brake light on the back door does what could be wrong
If you have the same bulb for brake and signal, brake light power needs to be interrupted by the signal lights, The brake circuit has to go through the signal light switch so the problem could be there.
Yes, it is the same fuse used for the rear brake lights.
Same thing happened to mine. I had to replace the whole thing. Mechanic told me it was due to a nonworking electrical wiring that was connected to the brake lights were out. Once you replaced the whole thing, it should be working.
By the nature of the question I assume that you are referring to the tail lights and brake lights. My Explorer has four bulbs. Tail, brake turn and backup. They are all in separate compartments of the light assembly. So it could be that you have just burned out one bulb. If you are referring to the upper brake light in the rear window or at the top of the tailgate, same thing. One or more bulbs are burned out. I see people driving all the time with both lower lights burned out and the top working or visa versa.
my Oldsmobile alero did the same thing. It turned out to be as simple as a blown bulb in my tail light.
Should be on same circuit as other brake lights
I would check the running lights for one with a short. I had the same sort of thing with my trailer and I spent way to much time troubleshooting the brake and signal wires. Turns out a running light bulb connector was grounding out on the trailer and messing it all up.
i have a 95 corolla that the same thing happened to me all it was, was a really bad couple of bulbs that is usually the cheapest way of trying to fix the problemBrake light on witjkout pushing pedelThere could several reason (1)SHORTAGE IN WIRING or light switch.(2)IT COULD be the brake switch, located behind the brake pedal.
A few posibilities are. the bulbs have blown, although the side and brake light bulbs are the same bulb, they use separate filiments, The fuse has blown or the brake light switch is faulty.
I am having the same trouble. My brake lights work with the light switch for nighttime driving, but only far right brake light works when i pres brake pedal. Reverse lights dont work at all. Turn signals and hazard light work.
