If it has multiple belts, remove the belt which goes to the compressor. If it has a serpentine belt, reroute the belt so it bypasses the compressor.
It does not have an Air Compressor. If you are talking about the A/C Compressor, then just look at the drive belts. One of these belts is driving the compressor. If it has one serpentine belt, it is driving the A/C compressor, PS pump, Alternator, & Water Pump. Just follow the belt to find it.
If you will check, the smaller of the two belts is a belt that only connects your Harmonic Balancer to the Air Conditioner Compressor to turn the Compressor Clutch when you turn the AC on. If you'll notice, I bet that 25 miles to the shop was a little hotter than normal wasn't it?
your original belt length is 1735 mm, when you bypass a/c compressor new lenght will be 1400. thereby you have to use any 6pk1400 or 7pk1400 belts
Out of freon, failed compressor, broken belt, blown fuse, failed control switch, etc.
Your AC is not working. Common causes are: lack of freon broken belt compressor failed
The A/C compressor is driven by a belt. Follow the routing of the belt and you will find the compressor.
Nothing if the compressor bearings are good. Just unplug the wires at the compressor or pull the fuse. If the compressor is locked up or the bearings are shot, then you need to purchase a belt for a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire that came from the factory without A/C. Install the belt, bypassing the compressor, and just leave the compressor alone.
Sounds like one of your AirConditioner Belts is bad. The compressor for the AC is usually powered by a belt. The belt can be loose or damaged and as a result it is slipping. On my 1973 Plymouth, I had a belt work through one of the idler Pulleys and split it open but yet the belt was still in tact. I knew something was wrong when the AC quite working.
The serpentine belt is at the front of the engine Instead of using multiple belts to drive the accessories ( power steering pump , water pump , alternator , air conditioning compressor etc ) ONE belt is used that is referred to as a serpentine belt
If this is the a/c compressor, yes you can. You will just not have air.
Remove the drive belt from the air conditioner compressor. Remove the air conditioning hoses from the compressor. Remove the retaining bolts from the air conditioner compressor.
