If a modern fuel injected engine is serviced and maintained according to the maintenance schedule listed in the owner's manual and only quality OEM type parts are used it can easily last 200,000 or more miles without any major problems. When it does need a major overhaul you can have the engine rebuilt and it will be good for another 100,000 miles or more. Unless you neglect an engine or it has a factory defect you will never have to actually replace the engine.

Depending on the maintenance and care it has received during its use, 200,000 to 300,000 miles.

How long do the engines in hybrid cars usually last?

If properly maintained, hybrid engines can last 10-20 years or even longer. The battery will need to be replaced, however. With a hybrid car, the concern is generally with the lifespan of the battery since that is where the car gets its power and that is what distinguishes it from a regular engine. The batteries on a hybrid vehicle are intended to last for the lifetime of the car. The engine should also last for the car's lifetime if it is properly maintained.
