∙ 14y agoType "Mariner 10" in your search box, hit Enter....and you'll find out more than you probably ever wanted to know about Mariner 10.
Mariner 10 was a space probe launched in November 1973, which flew by Venus and onto mercury. It took about 5 months to get to mercury back then. Maybe with a faster rocket and more modern technology, a trip to mercury might be around 3 months long.
I'm working on this class project about any probes that has visited Mercury and I need to know how long this probe has been in space so please answer this is due tomorrow!
mariner because going to the moon just happened a couple decades ago as for a mariner as been here for a pretty long time
No it was actually Mercury. Some people say that a long time ago Mercury was really far from the sun and this made it habitable for life. But slowly Mercury got closer to the sun and the life just vanished. Now Mercury is too hot for any life to inhabit it.
yes the milky way can support life, but it can't support life too long.
It is not possible to walk from Earth to Mercury because they are two separate planets located in different orbits around the Sun. The distance between Earth and Mercury varies due to their elliptical orbits but on average, it is about 77 million kilometers.
Mercury has no moons.
it is very long
Mercury's year is only 87.9 Earth days long.
88 Earth Days
Mercury does not have much of an atmosphere as its gravity is too weak to keep one. However it does have a very unstable tenuous one containing hydrogen, helium, oxygen, sodium, calcium and potassium. So far, observations of Mercury from ground-based observers and the Mariner 10 spacecraft have not shown evidence of a significant atmosphere compared to other planets. Mariner 10 did observe a tiny amount of helium 1000 km above the surface, but this is probably caused by the solar wind and the breakdown of Mercury's crust. Sodium, potassium and oxygen have also been detected in Mercury's very weak atmosphere, but these elements can be lost when they react with the Sun and Mercury's magnetic field. There are no living things on Mercury due to it's sustained high temperature.
