Well, in the summer the nightlife in Fairbanks, Alaska is actually day! You're only about 150 miles south of the Arctic Circle so Fairbanks almost gets what could be called midnight sun. I worked there for a few years and some of the bars, particularly Pike's Landing with it's back deck overlooking the Chena River and the Howling Dog Saloon in nearby Fox with it's "backyard" sometimes have sand volleyball nets hooked up for late night partygoers to play. There's plenty of bars and clubs to go to with every kind of live music. Fairbanks is pretty hoppin' for a town at the edge of the world. Winter is pretty fun too (though it's COLD) with plenty going on. It's been a couple of years since I've been there, but I recommend Pike's landing, The Blue Loon, and The Howling Dog. There was this little hole in the wall called The Dog House which was pretty cool.
