On most cars the overdrive is on when you start the car and put it in gear. This is the D (drive) with a circle around it meaning "overdrive". Cars with a center console shifter the overdrive button is usually on the side of the gear shift.
You will know if the OD is off because a light on the dash will come on that says O/D off. If it is off there is usually a button on the gear shifter if you have a center console on down on the console next to the shifter.
on the side of the shifter there is a od button
You would turn 19 in 2013.
should be a button on the shifter, maybe its a small one, push it in and the OD light should appear next to the gauges.
Over drive all Kia rio's run on overdrive automatically button to turn off OD is on your gear shift
on the side of the shifter facing the driver there is a rectangular button. if it's pushed in then OD is on. If it's sticking out, OD is off.
Leave OD on during regular condition driving to conserve fuel economy. Turn off OD to accelerate better and when climbing hills.
its not in tight enough
The od light means that the over-drive is off. Pushing the little button on the shifter selector will turn it on (when the dummy light is not on) and off (when the dummy light is lit).
I have a 2002 F350 and my OD light came on, that was 3 transmissions ago... by default the fords are in OD, you have to turn it off when towing. Never tow without turning the OD off first. My experience was that the trans was burned up, and the light kept flashing, or You might be exceeding the speed for being in OD.
The OD light on dash stands for Overdrive. There is a button (usually) on the end of the turn signal lever. Some cars the button or switch is on the dash. If you push the button/switch the light will change to OD or OD on (may even go out) then you will be in overdrive. Being in overdrive is good except for steep hills or pulling a heavy load.
Check the fuse. If it has a manual OD switch to turn off and on be sure it is on.
Hit the button on the end of shift lever, which takes it out of overdrive.
