There are 2 spring loaded retaining clips on each side. Tool number EL-46844 inflatable restraint module tool is recommended. It is used to release the springs. Then spin the wheel and release the other 2 springs. I have used a makeshift tool to do this but hard to explain it. You will see when you take a small light and slight pry up the module to see the springs. Always disarm and keep the noggin out of the way when messing with the bag. {Respect the bag} RESPECT THE BAG!
First pull the fuse to the air bags then remove the rubber cover on the stearing wheel. You will then see 4 to 6 bolts to remove the air bag and the air bag mounting bracket. After removing the bolts you will then need to unclip the air bag connector and then you will be able to remove the airbag. Then you will see a nut on the stearing will shaft, remove it and then you will need a wheel-puller to remove the stearing wheel due to the fact that it is pressed on. The cover and the air bag are normally one piece.Removing the air bag is usually no big deal.Disconnect both negative and positive cables from batteryGo for coffee or similar so the Airbag trigger device has time to discharge. There are usually screws accessible from the back side of the steering wheel that hold the air bag and cover assembly on.

If it is just the center peice around the radio you want to remove.. pull hard on the air vents at the top this will pop the clips out and then just pull it out at the bottom The dash cover is difficult to remove There are a lot of hidden screws What side or what cover do you want to remove? The passenger side has the air bag right under it BE CAREFUL
Atleast 40 - 60 cms away from air bag cover in a car.
